Brandywine River Museum

The Brandywine River Museum houses the largest collection of work from the famed Wyeth family of artists. Artist Andrew Wyeth was one of the most well-regarded U.S. artists of the mid-20th century. His regional style of realism is best summed up by his oft-used quote, "I paint my life". His life was indeed, a beautiful one. His sweeping landscapes, frequently illustrated using egg tempera, depict a casual rural ambiance that reflects an idyllic American existence.

Take a peek into Wyeth's life by taking a leisurely stroll through galleries holding works that span three generations of Wyeth's - N. C. Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth, and his son Jamie Wyeth. Works from outside of the family can also be seen in the Heritage Collection. Take a tour of the Heritage Collection and experience a cross section of American art, with a focus on that which comes from the Brandywine Valley. From defined portraits to sweeping landscapes to dignified statues you will be wonderfully amazed by the Brandywine River Museum.
